I am teaching a weeklong poetry workshop at the Split Rock Arts Program in Minneapolis in June.  Titled "Plot in a Bottle," this workshop explores the nuances of shaping that elusive but needful quality of "plot" in the small space of a poem.  "Plot," which covers everything from sequence to syntax, is what pulls all the techniques in a poem together so that it unfolds as an experience, rather than a mere statement; what makes the poem a process of continual discovery.   This course is open to anyone, and is also available for graduate credit.  Full details and registration information will be available in late February from the Split Rock Arts Program website:  www.cce.umn.edu/splitrockarts/index.html

I have updated the "Samples" page with links to poems of mine that are posted at various other websites.  If you click on the link you'll be taken to that poem--but stay awhile and explore the other poems on these sites: Campbell Corner, The Paris Review, and AGNI online.
