Joyce Locke CarterI'm a techno-rhetorician, which means I study the ways technology (mostly computers and software) affect, enable, and/or modify rhetorical acts. I have explored how argumentative structures are modified by hypertextual linking. Lately, I have been investigating how rhetorical messages compete with each other, and I've been looking at the mechanisms of markets to help this research. I'm also an entrepreneur, having developed software products with the Daedalus Group for ten years before coming to Texas Tech. I continue to develop new products, new solutions, and new partnerships for education. My official vita has all the details. |

PersonalIn 1990, I helped put together the 6th Computer and Writing Conference in Austin. There was no web at the time, but I have since converted the C&W 1990 Abstracts into web format for your entertainment. Megabyte University FAQ |
