This report was submitted to the STC Board of Directors in April, 2006. The report makes a number of recommendations that may change the nature of the STC Conference. Academics wishing to maintain ties with practitioners, communicate with others in the university and college system, and use STC as a venue for publication of research, should read this document carefully and anticipate participation in STC according to this important report. Not all the suggestions made here will be implemented, but those that might be could change the role academics play in STC.
