Progress reports allow me to keep track of your work challenges and think about how to help you achieve your learning goals.  They are also interesting to me and they give you a chance to show how you are doing in your job and academic efforts.

To repeat, here are the requirements:

Length: 1 page, posted to your page on the . 4378 wiki

Due Dates:  See the Schedule page.

Content:  Remember that I am the reader of these logs, so please explain what you are doing on the job and how your skills as a technical communicator come into play.  I expect you to show engagement in what you're doing.  My question is, "What is this person learning?"  Show and tell me that.

  • Summary of work activities. What tasks did you perform? What are your job responsibilities?  Whom did you interact with? What challenges did you face?
  • Summary of academic activities: What did you read, think about, explore, or write?

A page per report should not be difficult for a technical communicator. Your challenge might be time management:  When to find the time to file the reports.
